General position summary:
The Finance Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls for the Perdue company. This role ensures timely and accurate financial information, supports operational decision-making, and helps drive profitability across manufacturing, inventory, and distribution activities. The Finance Controller will have strong FP&A and business analytics background. This role partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to strengthen financial discipline, improve processes, manage risk, and support strategic growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, fixed assets, and month-end and year-end close.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute timely financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and cash flow planning processes.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and support compliance with GAAP and company standards.
  • Monitor manufacturing and inventory financial performance, including standard costing, inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, margin analysis, and operational variances.
  • Partner with operations, sales, procurement, and leadership teams to evaluate pricing, profitability, inventory levels, and capital expenditures.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and support tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency.
  • Supervise and develop finance and accounting staff, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality output.
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic planning and business decisions.

Job Skills Required:
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and GAAP.
  • Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis in a manufacturing or furniture environment.
  • Ability to interpret financial results and translate data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and organizational effectiveness.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supervising finance and accounting team members and may include assigning work, reviewing performance, training employees, and supporting department development.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 5 years in a controller, assistant controller, or senior accounting leadership role preferred.
  • Manufacturing, contract furniture, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems, budgeting tools, and financial reporting platforms required.
  • Experience with Acquisition and Integration is preferred

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business correspondence, policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance.
  • Ability to write clear reports, business communications, and executive summaries.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, employees, auditors, and external business partners.

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, margins, interest, variances, allocations, and forecasts.
