About the Position

Power Design is seeking a Food Truck Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Surge Café food truck located at our Palmetto campus. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience by managing food preparation, customer service, inventory, staffing, and financial performance. The Food Truck Manager will lead by example, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, hospitality, and operational excellence while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture. This role will help create a welcoming dining experience for employees and guests by serving fresh, high-quality meals in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Surge Café food truck, ensuring exceptional food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the team by example by preparing food, assisting with customer orders, and serving guests.
  • Develop seasonal and specialty menu offerings in collaboration with leadership.
  • Manage, coach, train, and mentor food truck team members to ensure consistent performance, food quality, and exceptional customer service.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, food costs, and vendor relationships while minimizing waste and controlling expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked food truck while ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Oversee the point-of-sale system and food ordering process to provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Support Power Design events, catering requests, and special functions as needed.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, innovation, and hospitality while upholding Power Design's core values.

Here's What We're Looking For

  • 5-10 years of culinary and/or food service management experience in a high-volume restaurant, café, or food truck environment.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching, and training a team in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Experience managing food costs, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of health department regulations, food safety practices, and sanitation standards; ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Experience with POS systems, inventory management software (such as MarketMan), and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Passion for creating fresh, high-quality food while delivering an outstanding guest experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing culinary responsibilities with operational leadership.
