Job description

Position:  Corporate Controller

Location: Chatham County, GA (Savanna Metro)
Compensation: $130,000 – $155,000 DOE + Annual Profit Sharing
Benefits: Generous benefits package

RemX is proud to partner with our prestigious client in the Savannah Metro area in their search for a strategic, hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function for their established and growing manufacturing company. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing accounting, budgeting, and overall financial operations to ensure the accuracy, integrity and compliance of all financial reporting.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage multi-entity corporate budgets ensuring consistency across entities
  • Oversee all daily accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, billing, collections, cash disbursements, GL, cost accounting, revenue recognition, fixed assets and inventory management
  • Develop, document and maintain accounting policies, procedures and GAAP standards
  • Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Lead and manage inventory control processes including physical/cycle counts, adjustments and audits
  • Own and execute month/quarter/year end close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to Executive Leadership
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and management reports
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and filings
  • Administer commercial insurance programs and maintain related documentation
  • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and efficiencies across accounting and finance processes
  • Perform cost analysis related to AP/AR processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash reporting
  • Oversee and maintain accounting systems, including ERP platforms and partner with system consultants to ensure accurate configuration and reporting
  • Provide training and ongoing support to accounting staff on systems, processes, and controls
  • Participate in cross functional initiatives, projects, and ad hoc assignments to support organizational goals



Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; advanced degree in Accounting or CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum five (5)  years of progressive financial leadership experience in manufacturing setting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proven experience managing GL functions and full month/quarter/year end close processes
  • Proven skill with developing and maintaining internal controls, compliance and reporting accuracy
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively liaise across all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accountability, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to improve systems, processes and organizational efficiency
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central
  • Prior experience in the tactical equipment manufacturing industry a plus but not required
