Mortgage Finance Associate Attorney

Location: Charlotte (Open to Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Washington D.C.)

Direct Counsel is seeking a junior to mid-level Mortgage Finance Associate to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm in Charlotte, with the option to work from other U.S. office locations, including Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Washington D.C.. This role will focus on mortgage origination, warehouse financing, and securitization transactions in the commercial and residential mortgage sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the mortgage finance group in various securitization and financing transactions.

  • Advise clients on commercial and residential mortgage loans, including origination and warehouse financing.

  • Draft and negotiate loan documents, securitization agreements, and related contracts.

  • Assist with complex mortgage-related securitization transactions and asset-backed securities.

  • Work on matters related to mortgage servicing, regulatory compliance, and other finance-related issues.

  • Collaborate with clients to develop effective solutions for mortgage financing and securitization needs.

Qualifications
  • Education: J.D. from a top-tier law school.

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in mortgage finance, warehouse financing, securitization, or related transactions.
