Job description

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our existing team providing financial and project management support to our General Services Administration (GSA) client in Washington DC.
The Financial Analyst will work closely with multiple Defense and Civilian Agency program offices to monitor and analyze project cost and schedules; track contract line items and funding balances; track project milestones and deliverables; report on project performance; and manage invoice processing. In this role, the successful candidate leads defined work streams or specialized functional responsibilities and delivers complex work with a high degree of independence, while contributing materially to delivery outcomes across engagements. Hive Group is seeking individuals that are energetic, forward thinking, with excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
This is a Hybrid position requiring candidates to reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with the expectation of working onsite at a minimum one day a week at our corporate headquarters in McLean, VA.
Position Description
  • Interface directly with our GSA client's Project Managers, Contracting Officers, Contract Specialists.
  • Present financial statuses and recommendations to GSA AAS, GSA AAS's federal agency clients, and other federal contractors.
  • Identify root causes of complex contract financial situations and model possible courses of action to recommend solutions.
  • Identify and resolve funding shortfalls and surpluses to maximize client purchasing power.
  • Analyze historical data to maintain estimates of account burn rates, funding runout dates, and total costs of specific projects.
  • Create and maintain account structures for federal contracts supporting multiple stakeholders, including the tracking of each stakeholder's funds and expenditures.
  • Support the intake of funding from GSA's clients and coordinate funding allocation recommendations with contract stakeholders.
  • Reconcile contract finances to validate financial tracking, identify allocation errors, or remove unneeded funds.
  • Review cost estimate submissions for financial validity and contractual compliance.
  • Review invoices for financial accuracy, errors, and contractual compliance.
  • Utilize financial management tools/systems to collect, analyze, review and report on project financial data.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, or similar quantitative field.
  • 0 - 2 years of financial management experience.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance (able to pass both a criminal background check and credit check).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel for data manipulation.
  • Strong ability to manage time and organize priorities within deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and expand on current skill sets.
  • Prior experience in financial analysis or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience with federal government contracts is a plus.
  • Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated compensation range for this position is between $60,000 and $68,000 annually, based on benchmarks in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Actual salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's specialized skills, certifications, and years of experience relative to the D.C. metro benchmarks.
