Job description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The Financial Analyst supports the NAM Golf finance team in delivering accurate planning, forecasting, reporting and performance analysis. The role maintains financial data and reporting tools, explains business results against budget and forecast and provides clear information that helps Finance and cross-functional partners make informed decisions.

The position supports recurring planning and close processes, management reporting and ad hoc analysis. It also helps improve reporting quality, consistency and efficiency through automation, data visualization and disciplined process documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Forecasting and Close Support

  Support budgeting, forecasting and month-end close activities by collecting, validating and maintaining accurate data in financial planning and reporting systems.

  Maintain assigned inputs and reporting requirements across IBP, OOH, MaEX and other approved finance tools.

  Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis of business results versus budget, forecast and prior periods.

  Identify key variances and business drivers and support the preparation of clear financial commentary.

  Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to resolve data issues and complete required inputs on time.

Management Reporting and Business Analysis

  Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards and presentations covering business performance and assigned operating areas.

  Support reporting and analysis of operating expenses, travel and entertainment and other cost categories as assigned.

  Provide accurate, timely financial information to support business reviews and decision-making.

  Complete ad hoc financial analysis for Finance leadership and cross-functional partners.

  Maintain consistent report definitions, data sources and calculation logic.

Systems, Automation and Data Quality

  Maintain and improve standardized reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI and other approved automation and data tools.

  Support routine finance processes in SAP and SAC, including internal order creation, reclass requests and related master-data or reporting activities.

  Use SQL, Python, Databricks or comparable tools where appropriate to improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy.

  Investigate data inconsistencies, coordinate corrections and document recurring reporting processes.

  Participate in cross-functional projects focused on reporting quality, process consistency, automation and data governance.

Controls and Ways of Working

  Follow applicable adidas Finance policies, internal controls and reporting standards.

  Maintain complete and organized support for assigned reports, analyses, system inputs and financial processes.

  Manage recurring deadlines with accuracy and consistent follow-through.

  Escalate material data, reporting, process or control concerns to the appropriate Finance leader.

Decision Scope and Accountability

  Own day-to-day preparation and maintenance of assigned financial reports, analyses, system inputs and process documentation within established standards and timelines.

  Accountable for data accuracy, timely completion, clear variance support and early identification of issues.

  Resolve routine data and reporting questions independently and bring material assumptions, business decisions, control concerns or unusual transactions to the appropriate Finance leader.

  Contribute recommendations for practical reporting and process improvements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with working knowledge of financial statements, planning and management reporting.

  Advanced Excel skills; practical experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools strongly preferred.

  Ability to work accurately with detailed financial data, identify inconsistencies and meet recurring deadlines.

  Ability to translate data into clear reporting, concise commentary and practical business insights.

  Working knowledge of SAP, SAC or comparable financial planning and ERP systems preferred.

  Experience with SQL, Python, Databricks or comparable data tools is an advantage.

  Strong organization and prioritization with consistent attention to detail and follow-through.

  Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate across functions in a global matrix.

Requisite Education & Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, management reporting, accounting or a related area.

  Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial or business data.

  Experience with Power BI and SAP, SAC or comparable systems preferred.

  Fluent English, written and spoken.

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $85,150 - $97,500. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Carlsbad, California.
