Bascom Hunter, LLC is an aerospace and defense government contractor supporting mission-critical programs across multiple facilities in the U.S. We are seeking a Financial Analyst with an M&A focus to support the company's growth strategy through disciplined market research, financial analysis, and deal support.

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst, M&A will play a key role in identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets, supporting due diligence, and providing financial analysis that informs Bascom Hunter’s growth strategy. This role also supports the broader finance team with general analytical work as needed. The position reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Planning & Resources.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct market research to identify acquisition targets and industry trends within the aerospace/defense and government contracting sectors
  • Perform financial analysis on prospective acquisition targets, including valuation modeling, historical performance review, and synergy assessment
  • Support sourcing and outreach efforts related to potential M&A opportunities
  • Assist in due diligence processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations) as needed
  • Prepare materials, memos, and presentations summarizing acquisition analysis for leadership review
  • Track and maintain a pipeline of potential acquisition targets and market intelligence
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide general financial analysis in support of the broader finance team, including budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc reporting
  • Support FP&A functions as capacity allows, including variance analysis and financial reporting
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, econometrics, data science, statistics)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Excellent research skills and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present findings clearly to leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate development, or related field a plus (not required for the right candidate)
  • Familiarity with government contracting (GovCon) industry a plus, though not required
