Salary: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year

As an integral member of the Finance team, the Finance Associate will support corporate modeling and strategic planning, develop internal and external presentations, peer benchmarking, and other ad‑hoc financial analysis. This role works closely with the Director, Finance as well as cross‑functional teams, including accounting, marketing, engineering and operations. This role is based in Denver, CO.

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist Director of Finance in all duties including gathering data for internal and external reporting, including board presentations, deal evaluations, bank presentations, ratings agency presentations, management off‑site presentations, employee communications and additional presentations as they arise.
  • Build and maintain financial models for corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and long‑term strategic planning.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives, including scenario analysis and long‑term financial projections.
  • Assist team with financial analysis/reporting on acquisition evaluations.
  • Conduct peer benchmarking and competitive analysis within the energy sector.
  • Perform variance analysis to provide insight into performance relative to company targets and prepare monthly plan‑to‑actual reports that clearly communicate results to senior management and investors.
  • Assist with all communication between FourPoint and its investors to ensure consistent and proper messaging.
  • Assist, establish, support and maintain all investment banking relationships.
  • Support and help plan with the Director of Finance the annual off‑site planning meeting in collaboration with Corporate Communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships internally throughout the organization. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., accounting, marketing, engineering, operations) to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or consulting, ideally in the energy or natural resources industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced modeling) and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg, Capital IQ) is a plus.
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining financial models, ideally with a focus on E&P corporate and valuation models.
  • Experience with oil & gas metrics (e.g., PV-10, EBITDAX).
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting and GAAP accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to handle complex datasets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for interacting with senior leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong negotiation and research skills.
  • Creative approach to financial analysis and reporting, transforming complex numbers into intuitive visuals and actionable insights.
