Job Description
Americas Commercial Finance Director
The Americas Commercial Finance Director position is a key leadership role in providing the Sales VP and Staff, VP Commercial Finance, and other stakeholders the financial performance and insights of the organization.
The Americas Commercial Finance Director is expected to build and maintain collaborative partnerships across multiple levels, functions, and businesses across Agilent. The successful candidate will also ensure the championing of business controls and compliance to GAAP and SEC rules.
Specific Areas of Responsibility
  • Partner with the Commercial VP and staff to develop and implement strategies that drive the organization to achieve its commitments on both top-line and expense/margins. These strategies include effective channel coverage, prioritizing investment decisions, and sales compensation.
  • Owning the Commercial performance, including orders, revenue drivers, operating expenses, and allocations.
  • Partners with other business finance teams to represent the Americas Commercial performance.
  • Leads the Americas Commercial end to end forecasting process.
  • Leading by influencing sales managers through market and competitive knowledge, analytical insight, and use of working relationships with corporate, business partners, and peers.
  • Ensures integrity of financial results through management of effective financial planning, analysis, and scenario planning processes.
  • Compliance adherence and audit remediation implementation, along with business partners.

People Leadership and Organizational Development - Builds and develops high-performing matrixed teams, strengthens organizational capability and creates accountability through periods of growth and transformation.
Decision Quality and Financial Rigor - Applies structured thinking, analytical depth, and sound judgment to complex decisions involving pricing, portfolio optimization, restructuring, capital allocation, acquisitions and strategic investments.
Planning and Performance Management - Leads operating plans, forecasts, and long-range plans using disciplined, driver-based assumptions and strong command of growth, profitability, cash and revenue performance levers.
Financial Stewardship and Governance - Maintains high standards of financial integrity, controls, and compliance while balancing strategic ambition with disciplined risk management.
Executive Influence and Communication - Communicates with clarity and credibility, simplifies complex issues and influences senior leaders through fact-based insight and strong executive presence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, commercial finance, business finance, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience leading people, projects, programs, and/or cross-functional initiatives, including influencing outcomes in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience supporting a sales or commercial organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior business leaders to drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, including understanding of sales economics, go-to-market strategies, pricing, and profitability drivers.
  • Experience leading operating plans, forecasts, long-range planning, scenario modeling, and performance management processes.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of financial controls, compliance, governance, and risk management practices.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $143,760.00 - $269,550.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
