Job description

About the Job

LitFinancial is on a mission to be the most client focused mortgage company in the industry. As of 2025, LitFinancial has earned a perfect 5-star review with the Better Business Bureau and a 4.9 rating with hundreds of reviews from Google by delivering a world class experience. LitFinancial is a dynamic organization built with go-getters who are passionate, hardworking, and honest, which fuels an incredible environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Operations & Compensation Analyst to own compensation administration, reconciliation, and vendor financial operations as we scale. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take full ownership of commission processing for both our W-2 loan originators and our 1099 contractor platform, then help us automate and build the processes that will carry the company from hundreds to over a thousand loan originators. This is a high-visibility role with real ownership from day one, ideal for a recent graduate with 1 to 2 years of experience who wants to build a finance function, not just work in one. This is an in-office position based in Troy, MI.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompensation Administration
  • Own end-to-end commission processing for loan originators, including calculation, review, approval, and payment.
  • Reconcile commission calculations to ensure loan-level accuracy before every pay cycle.
  • Coordinate loan-level commission detail and payment communications with loan originators and sales leadership, and resolve discrepancies quickly and professionally.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring compensation data is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
  • Partner with the product owner on platform changes affecting commissions and compensation, representing Finance requirements, validating calculation logic before changes go live, and owning the accuracy of the compensation calculation source of truth document maintained in collaboration with the product owner.
Vendor Management & Reconciliation
  • Own monthly reconciliation for our top vendor relationships, including credit reporting, health and benefits providers, and our third-party processing partner.
  • Audit vendor invoices against contracted rate cards, identify overcharges and duplicate billings, and drive disputes to resolution.
Automation & Process Building
  • Help automate revenue and compensation reconciliation, including building tools to gather and consolidate data from lender portals and internal systems.
  • Document SOPs for commission processing, reconciliation, and vendor management so every process is repeatable and audit-ready.
  • Design processes that scale: what works for hundreds of loan originators today must work for 500 to 1,000 next year.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work through automation and process optimization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or a related analytical role (internship experience counts).
  • Strong Excel skills; you are comfortable working in formula-driven models and keeping them clean.
  • High attention to detail; commission errors cost money and trust, and you catch them before they happen.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities in a scaling environment.
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Exposure to mortgage, lending, fintech, or investment banking is a plus but not required.
What We Offer
  • Learn directly from our senior finance executive in a role built to shape strong finance professionals.
  • Real ownership, real impact: you will run processes that touch every producer in the company.
  • A front-row seat to a company scaling its production platform, with the opportunity to grow into a broader finance role as the team expands.
  • Competitive salary plus performance bonuses.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k).
  • Paid time off and holidays.
