Interns often assist with researching potential titles, coordinating with distributors, preparing screening materials, and compiling program notes. You may also help organize Q&A sessions, manage submissions, and analyze audience feedback. This role offers valuable exposure to the film industry’s curation process and close collaboration with experienced programmers and event staff, providing a strong foundation for future roles in film exhibition or festival management.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a film programming intern?

To thrive as a Film Programming Intern, you need a solid understanding of film history, genres, and current industry trends, along with coursework or experience in film studies or media.
