Job description

Job Summary/Objective: 

Provide testing data for existing and prospective projects to assure customers’ performance metrics and requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safe and clean operation of the quality lab to include first piece testing on all product lines processed each day.
  • Color harmony and maintenance of color standards and Macbeth light table
  • Operation of salt spray booth, water immersion booth, humidity testing as needed.
  • Tracking of all internal and external project testing, lab microscope.
  • Storing and organizing part retains
  • Fulfill company’s International Material Data System (IMDS) requirements of the customer.
  • Maintaining weekly scrap logs for lab-tested parts

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Competent written and verbal skills. Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with X-Rite, Wave scan, microscopy, film-build, and orange peel. Ability to perform basic tests related to coating technologies (crosshatch adhesion, cure rubs). Cutting of metal and plastic parts for testing.

 

Education and Experience: 

High school diploma or GED. Previous experience is preferred but not required. X-Cel will train.

Work Environment:

Laboratory/office, manufacturing plant.

Physical Demands:

Bending, lifting, standing.
