Job Description:
Diagnostic Imaging Assistant (File Room Clerk)
Day Shift 8:00am-4:30pm - 40hrs/week

About the Job:
Reporting to the Radiology Operations Supervisor, the Diagnostic Imaging Assistant will provide support services within the Radiology Department, including providing customer service and file room functions.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform clerical duties within the radiology department.
  • Follow film/CD request policies and procedures.
  • Uploading outside images for comparison.
  • Perform phone interviews to screen patients for procedures using appropriate questionnaires.
  • Prepare CT contrast for procedures and review patient labs.
  • Transmit images to facilities utilizing PACS and Powershare applications.
  • Utilize computer systems such as EMR, LifeImage, PACSCube, and PACS.
  • Respect confidential nature of patient information and abide by HIPAA laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate compassion and patience in all customer interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with others within the department as well as outside of the department.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computer systems needed to perform job functions.

Who You Are:
  • 1-2 years hospital/medical office experience required.
  • Radiology experience strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma
  • Formal understanding of the administrative and clinical functions of a healthcare/medical office practice.
