Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY:

• Maintains and is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Imaging Department’s film file system and information systems. Performs other record keeping duties for the various areas in Imaging.

• Performs and coordinates administrative and clerical support functions to facilitate delivery of effective and efficient patient care.

• Performs duties in accordance with policies and procedures of the department and Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital (QNHCH).

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Seeing. Hearing. Speaking. Finger dexterity.

B. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

• Infrequent: N/A

• Occasional: Lift floor to waist between 11-20 lbs. Carry between 6-10 lbs. Push and Pull between 11-20 lbs.

• Frequent: N/A

• Constant: N/A

C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

• Infrequent: N/A

• Occasional: Stoop/Bend. Kneel. Twist. Crawl. Squat. Climb: Stairs/Ladder.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

• Subjected to noise/vibrations from space saver file movement continuous throughout the day.

• Exposure to copy machine toner and dust (when purging films).

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Bachground in medical terminology and anatomy preferred.

B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• No certification and/or licensure requirement.

C. EXPERIENCE:

• One (1) year general office or clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare related setting, such as a clinic, hospital, health care agency, medical insurance, physician's office, etc.

• Previous recent experience in the medical field, medical office or as film clerk preferred.

• Experience to demonstrate:

o Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

o Ability to operate office equipment such as computer and automated systems.
