Job description

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support our growing team by providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of areas, including labor and employment, commercial transactions, marketing, consumer laws, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. As a Trex Legal Counsel, you’ll have high attention to detail and excellent legal and business judgement. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Put safety first – Always!
  • Lead and foster our “people first” culture.
  • Provide ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including labor and employment, commercial transactions, marketing, consumer laws, privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
  • Resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
  • Structure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including distribution, licensing and marketing contracts.
  • Assist in the management of the company’s insurance policies and strategies.
  • Provide counsel to senior leadership for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and other corporate transactions.
  • Manage and oversee company-wide record retention policy.
  • Partner with departmental cross‑functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Research and Development on various projects.
