Job Description

The Village Voice is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in pursuing a career in marketing, events, and social media to assist the marketing department on a part-time basis during the Fall 2016 semester. You must be eligible to receive academic credit!

This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the design and execution of promotional, marketing and social media campaigns for the Village Voice and our partners in addition to event planning and production.

Individuals chosen for this internship will gain hands-on experience in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.), special event production, sponsorship sales and partnerships, street team marketing and promotional campaigns. We will be focusing on our 6th annual craft beer festival (Brooklyn Pour) and 4th annual cocktail event among many other promotional endeavors.

Responsibilities will include the following:

Create and fulfill giveaways and contests

Assist with social media efforts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat

Assist with street team promotions and marketing campaigns

Research leads for potential sponsors and partners of special events

Assist in production logistics of special events

Assist with smooth execution of event sponsorships and summaries

Manage inventory of promotional swag items

Research applicable marketing and event partnerships

Archive marketing and event materials

Track and capture partnership screenshots and campaign assets

Active interest in social media, marketing, events, and promotions preferred with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office required. A passion for music, film, arts, and New York City culture is encouraged and welcomed. Please feel free to share these particular interests in your cover letter!

This position is unpaid and applicant must receive college credit for this internship. Applicants must preferably be available to start in September through December.
