Job description

Located in the heart of Manhattan, this Fill-in Optometrist opportunity offers a unique and flexible way to stay engaged in a collaborative, patient-focused clinical environment. This role is designed to provide as-needed coverage for a well-established onsite health center when the primary Optometrist is out of the office for planned absences such as vacations or scheduled time off.
Why join us?
As an Optometrist at VSP Onsite Clinics in Manhattan, you'll serve a crucial role in supporting the vision and overall well-being of employees and their families by conducting comprehensive vision exams and collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals to deliver seamless, high-quality care. With access to advanced technology and top-notch resources, you'll facilitate a smooth connection between patients, eyewear, insurance, and clinical expertise. This innovative, national medical group redefines healthcare through an integrated model emphasizing prevention and whole-person wellness, combining primary care, eye health, physical medicine, mental health, health coaching, and care navigation.
Rather than a consistent weekly schedule, this position will support approximately 4-6 weeks of coverage annually, typically consisting of consecutive weekday assignments during those planned absences. This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist seeking flexibility without a recurring schedule, while still practicing full-scope primary eye care.
Why you'll love the Manhattan area:
Located in the heart of New York City, Manhattan offers an unparalleled blend of culture, excitement, and opportunity. Residents enjoy world-class dining, renowned museums, and iconic entertainment venues, all within easy reach. The city's diverse neighborhoods each bring their own unique character, from the historic charm of the Upper West Side to the vibrant energy of SoHo and the arts scene in Chelsea. Central Park and the city's waterfront promenades provide endless options for outdoor recreation, including walking, biking, and relaxing amidst stunning urban scenery. With convenient public transit, Manhattan connects you to all that New York City has to offer, making it an inspiring and dynamic place to call home.
