Practice Area: Domestic Relations or Civil Litigation with Criminal Experience Preferred 
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt 
Reports To: Managing Partner or Partner
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience in either domestic relations or civil litigation, with criminal law experience strongly preferred. 
This role requires strong legal writing, communication, advocacy, and case management skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will handle client communication, draft, conduct legal research, appear in court, and support all phases of the process while helping us maintain the high standard of client representation our firm is known for. 

Responsibilities 

The responsibilities listed below describe the general nature of the role and are not exhaustive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. 

  • Represent clients in domestic relations, civil litigation, and/or criminal matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and other parties
  • Attend hearings, conferences, mediations, depositions, and other court-related proceedings
  • Mange case deadlines, filings, and documentation 
  • Assist with discovery, trial preparation, negotiations, and settlement discussions 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to provide excellent client representation
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience practicing law 
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school 
  • Active license to practice law in Colorado 
  • Experience in either domestic relations or civil litigation 
  • Criminal law experience strongly preferred 
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines 
  • Professional, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable appearing in court and interacting with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Preferably proficient with legal research tools (Westlaw), case management software (Filevine), and Microsoft Office.

Work Environment 

This position may be performed remotely (within the state of Colorado), in a hybrid arrangement, or on-site, depending on the needs of the firm, clients, and assigned cases. The role offers flexibility; however, during the first 90 days of employment, the Associate Attorney is expected to be in the office as much as possible for onboarding, training, and integration with the team. The typical workday is Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
