Job description

Summary
Material Handler will receive shipments, ensure that all inventory is properly placed and stored within the pharmacy. The Material Handler will work closely with the inventory support team and follow all best practice for pharmacy operations.
Shifts
  • Saturday - Tuesday 9a-7:30pm
Training schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:pm for approx. 2 weeks
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving of Pharmaceutical Inventory from all wholesalers
  • Validating all Pharmaceutical Inventory receipts to the invoice, either electronically manually.
  • Stock medications according to FEFO inventory system
  • Assist with inventory audits to eliminate expired drugs in inventory
  • Assist with all Physical Inventories
  • Provide support to the Inventory Department
  • Assist with general clerical duties and filing
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA
  • Follow and aid in enforcement of all company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for other duties assigned
Education and Experience
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous inventory experience preferred
  • Pervious pharmacy experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once
  • Ability to communicate effectively, patiently and courteously
  • Focused team player, who can work in conjunction with pharmacists, other departments, customers, and leader
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Work independently with little supervision and meet daily deadlines
  • Ability to perform repetitious work accurately

Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged standing in front of a computer. In addition, this position requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment, including the operation of standard computer and phone equipment. This position may be required to work long hours. The position may have to handle or have exposure to hazardous drugs or products.
