What is a FIFO fly in fly out job?

Workers are flown to the site for a set roster period (such as two weeks on, one week off), during which they live in provided accommodation near the work site. After their roster, they return home for their break before repeating the cycle. FIFO arrangements are common in regions where the work site is too far from urban centers for daily commuting.
