The Field Service Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, re-scheduling, updating and communicating the field service activity schedule in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. The Field Service Scheduler will ensure:
  • Close cooperation with relevant stakeholders like Project Management, Customer Support Management, Technical Support, FSE Planner and the FSE.
  • Close cooperation with Project Manager/Coordinator to ensure scheduling is in line with the delivery of equipment.
  • Close cooperation with Customer Support Coordinator to ensure scheduling is in line with the delivery of spare parts.
  • To reserve capacity for all field service activities, both pro-and re-active.
  • To schedule FSEs to fulfill the work orders that have been created in line with local laws, regulations and work-life balance. To monitor the status/progress of the requests and act quickly upon changes.

On any given day you may:
  • Schedules FSE's according to work order requirements, location and severity
  • Identifies resource needs/shortage/excess and involve relevant stakeholders, to find the optimal solution
  • Informs stakeholders about changes/issues to the scheduling process
  • Updates and manage the service schedule in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensures balanced, effective and efficient use of resources (customer, FSE and organization)
  • Provides to Field Service Manager an up-to-date overview of scheduled/available Field Service Engineer hours/capacity
  • Work with Field Service Manager to ensure Field Service Engineers' training needs, Skills and Skill Level are up to date

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to execute agreed tasks and deadlines against performance criteria (KPI).
  • Ability to work closely with a pool of Field Service Engineers and understand the dynamics and capabilities of the team.
  • Stakeholder handling skills and social perceptiveness.
  • Guidance and motivation of people, gaining commitment from both internal and external colleagues.
  • Process and manage multiple schedules simultaneously
  • Process driven and IT literate.
  • Clever decision maker in fast pace environment
  • Good grammar and communication skills

Education, Knowledge, and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience with operations management and/or field service scheduling
  • Knowledge of Service Administration processes, preferably in a Sales or Service environment.
  • Strong logistics and planning background.
  • Experience of using an ERP system preferred, ideally in combination with a service-scheduling application (ServiceMax preferred)
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage
