We have an exciting opportunity for a FIELD SERVICE SUPERVISOR to support and lead a team of Field Service Engineers throughout the US and Canada. This position serves as a technical and people leader, providing coaching, mentoring, resource coordination, and operational support while maintaining an active customer-facing role - that is, travelling to customer sites and performing duties similar to those of a Field Service Engineer, as necessary. The FIELD SERVICE SUPERVISOR is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, supporting employee development, and helping drive customer satisfaction across the service organization.
This position may be based in PROVIDENCE, RI or WIXOM, MI. Domestic travel up to 60% may be required, with potential international travel and collaboration with Mahr's global service organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support for assigned Field Service Engineers.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, establish development plans, and support career progression of team members.
  • Assist in the onboarding, training, and mentoring of new service personnel.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and support technical competency and qualification tracking for field service personnel.
  • Support the execution of field service activities including preventive maintenance, calibration, repair, installation, and customer training.
  • Lead or support advanced system installations, customer projects, and strategic service activities as required.
  • Partner with the Service Coordinator to optimize technician utilization, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure compliance with company procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to service delivery, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through professional communication and technical expertise.
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns and service escalations in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Applications Engineering, and Technical Support teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Review and approve time reporting, expense reports, and service documentation for assigned personnel.
  • Assist with workforce planning and resource forecasting.
  • Support compliance with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Education / Qualifications / Experience:
  • Associate degree, technical degree, military technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, applications engineering, technical support, or a related customer-facing technical role.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop a geographically dispersed technical workforce.
