Location: Redding, CA


As a Field Service Technician III, you represent MITER Brands and our trusted family of brands—including Milgard, MI Windows & Doors, and PGT Innovations—by delivering expert, high‐level service in the field. This senior‐level role requires advanced technical knowledge, independent decision-making, and the ability to resolve complex window and door issues while providing exceptional customer experience.


You’ll serve as a technical authority for field repairs, mentor junior technicians, and ensure every service interaction reinforces our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and customer care.


 Compensation Range: $28.00 - $34.00/hour (depending on experience)

 Schedule: Monday – Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostics, repairs, retrofits, and adjustments on a full range of window and door products—including escalated or non‐standard issues.
  • Conduct advanced on‐site inspections and determine root cause of failures with minimal guidance.
  • Execute high‐precision repairs requiring expert understanding of product engineering, installation methods, and structural interface.
  • Serve as a senior field representative, addressing escalated customer concerns with professionalism and confidence.
  • Clearly communicate technical findings, service options, and preventative recommendations to homeowners, builders, and contractors.
  • Uphold MITER Brands’ standards for customer experience and professionalism during every visit.
  • Provide mentorship, ride‐alongs, and technical coaching for Field Service Technicians I & II.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and customer care teams to resolve repeated or systemic product issues.
  • Offer feedback on product performance and field trends to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of service work, parts usage, and resolutions.
  • Maintain a clean, well‐organized service vehicle, tools, and inventory—setting the standard for field readiness.
  • Support safety compliance, onsite risk mitigation, and uphold company safety policies.
  • Recommend product upgrades, preventative maintenance programs, and efficiency improvements to customers.
  • Participate in specialized training and certifications to remain current on emerging products and repair techniques.
  • Assist in process improvements impacting field service, customer satisfaction, or product durability.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training or industry certification strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in window/door service, installation, maintenance, or related trades
  • Expert troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently
  • Strong communication and customer‐service skills with the ability to handle escalated situations
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs, including ladders and materials
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, or guide junior-level technicians
  • Prior experience with Milgard, MI Windows & Doors, or PGT product lines
  • Proficiency with digital service systems, documentation tools, and mobile diagnostics
  • Familiarity with building codes, installation standards, and construction best practices
