Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our industrial services team..

This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, alignment, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment and mechanical systems in shop and field environments. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, precision alignment experience, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble industrial pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment

  • Perform precision shaft alignment using laser alignment tools

  • Conduct vibration analysis and assist with machine health monitoring activities

  • Perform pump and motor rebuilds, including bearing replacement, seal installation, and component inspection

  • Assist with shaft machining processes and coordinate with machinists for repairs and tolerances

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Perform equipment diagnostics and root cause failure analysis

  • Support metallurgical analysis efforts as needed by assisting with failure investigations

  • Ensure proper rigging and safe movement of heavy equipment

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair reports

  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and quality standards

  • Provide field service support at customer sites when required

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 35 years of millwright or rotating equipment maintenance experience

  • Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, couplings, bearings, seals, and alignment practices

  • Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.)

  • Experience performing laser shaft alignment

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation

  • Knowledge of rigging and safe lifting practices

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to travel for field service assignments as needed

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in shop and industrial environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school certification in Millwright, Industrial Maintenance, or related field

  • Experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance tools

  • Experience with shaft machining and lathe operations

  • Familiarity with metallurgical failure analysis

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Work Environment
  • Shop and field environments

  • Exposure to rotating equipment, heavy machinery, and industrial settings

  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
