Commercial HVAC/R Service Manager

Entek HVAC | Vancouver, WA

Serving the Greater Portland-Vancouver Metro Area

$140,000+ Base Salary + Quarterly Bonuses

Build and Grow a High-Performing Commercial Service Business

Are you an experienced commercial HVAC/R service leader who knows how to build teams, grow customer relationships, improve profitability, and create a high-performing service operation?

Entek HVAC is looking for a Commercial HVAC/R Service Manager to lead and grow our commercial service division throughout the Greater Portland-Vancouver market.

We’re not looking for someone who simply manages today's workload. We’re looking for a builder.

The ideal candidate has a proven history of leading commercial mechanical service teams, developing technicians, building customer relationships, improving margins, and growing service revenue. An established network of commercial customers, technicians, vendors, and industry contacts is highly valued.

This is an opportunity to take significant ownership of a growing service operation and make a measurable impact on revenue, profitability, customer relationships, technician development, and long-term growth.

What You'll Do

Lead & Develop the Service Team

  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performing team of commercial HVAC/R technicians, dispatchers, and service support personnel.
  • Recruit experienced technicians and build a strong pipeline of future service talent.
  • Establish clear expectations for safety, productivity, customer service, quality, and accountability.
  • Create a culture focused on teamwork, professionalism, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
  • Develop technicians and future service leaders to support long-term organizational growth.

Grow the Commercial Service Business

  • Take ownership of growing commercial service revenue, customer relationships, and market share throughout the Portland-Vancouver metro area.
  • Develop and expand relationships with commercial building owners, facility managers, general contractors, property managers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Leverage established industry relationships and professional networks to accelerate customer and technician growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new commercial customers.
  • Grow planned maintenance agreements, recurring service revenue, and key commercial accounts.
  • Build long-term customer partnerships rather than focusing solely on individual service calls.

Own Service Operations & Performance

  • Manage day-to-day commercial service operations, including dispatching, scheduling, field productivity, customer communication, billing, and service delivery.
  • Monitor key service KPIs including revenue, gross margin, labor utilization, billable efficiency, callbacks, technician productivity, and customer retention.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement processes that improve productivity, service quality, and profitability.
  • Establish appropriate service pricing and quoting strategies.
  • Quote, estimate, present, negotiate, and close commercial HVAC/R service opportunities.
  • Partner with company leadership to establish budgets, growth objectives, and strategic priorities.

Drive Financial Performance

  • Take ownership of the commercial service department's financial performance and P&L.
  • Develop and manage service budgets while maintaining strong margins.
  • Analyze financial and operational results and take corrective action when performance falls below expectations.
  • Balance customer service, technician productivity, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue while improving operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of commercial HVAC/R or mechanical service experience.
  • 5+ years of service leadership or management experience, preferably within a commercial mechanical contracting environment.
  • Proven track record of building teams, growing service revenue, developing customer relationships, and improving profitability.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC/R service operations, including dispatch, estimating, quoting, preventive maintenance, and field service management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a service department's P&L, budgets, margins, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong customer-development and business-development skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term commercial relationships.
  • Established network of commercial mechanical customers, technicians, vendors, or industry contacts is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to recruit, retain, coach, and develop experienced technicians.
  • Strong understanding of service agreements, recurring revenue, preventive maintenance, and commercial account development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with service management, dispatch, ERP, or field-service software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Experience

  • Commercial plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or kitchen equipment service experience.
  • Experience overseeing multiple mechanical service disciplines.
  • Familiarity with Oregon and Washington commercial HVAC/R and electrical codes.
  • Experience leading a service department through significant revenue or organizational growth.
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Why This Role Matters

Entek is looking for a leader who can help build what comes next.

You'll have the opportunity to influence the direction of the commercial service business, build a talented team, strengthen customer relationships, improve profitability, and expand Entek's presence throughout the Portland-Vancouver market.
