Job description

We are seeking a qualified Field Service Manager to oversee a large team of Heavy Equipment Field Mechanics in Portland, OR. The Service Manager will supervise a team of 25 Field Technicians tasked with repairing construction and mining equipment. Will interact with all employees and other department managers, customers, and vendors. Managers with dealership experience will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee field and shop repairs including closing work orders.
  • Prepare bids and have oversight of quotes for repairs and maintenance work in a timely manner
  • Review and evaluate all work orders for accuracy
  • Negotiate and settle customer and internal service disputes
  • Control and evaluate department P & L, including capital expenditures
  • Interact with other department employees and promote a team environment
  • Handle all employee issues including hiring, mentoring, disciplinarian actions, and terminations
  • Monitor and schedule for technician training to stay current with technology
  • Assist with other duties as assigned and directed by the Branch Manager and Corporate Service Manager
Qualification
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Exceptional time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and complete all tasks required.
  • Should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience previously working in a management capacity in the heavy construction and mining equipment industry.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong customer service skills
Compensation

$90k - $130k/year, salary range depends on experience and qualification.
