This position is classified under Global Grade:

Grade 13

In collaboration with the Field Service Manager an M&G Field Service Lead's role is to direct and support M&G field service team members. Organizing and executing field service activities can be complex. The applicant will need to work with Field Service Management, Operations, Sales, and other internal and external stakeholders to support Motors and Generators customers.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Motion Service division in the US.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Perform administrative duties for field team members who report to you. This includes but is not limited to approval of expenses, annual performance review, and weekly time approval.

  • Perform all Field Service functions as needed for emergency response support dispatches.

  • Act as a technical resource and first tier escalation point for customers and HSC concerns your team. Perform HSE related tasks for your team by conducting SOTs and JSA review.

  • Work with management and operations to coordinate field work and help to support the other Field Service Leads.

  • Work with the field service management to determine proficiency and resource requirements for your team. Help develop plans to strengthen the field service organization as a whole.

  • Work with management, operations, and sales to analyze and develop field service scope for opportunities related to Motors and Generators.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in technical field and 7 years of relevant experience or High school diploma/GED and 9 years of relevant experience or military education/experience required

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Strong knowledge of basic and advanced electric machines theory. Solid understanding of synchronous and asynchronous machines design and operation, mechanically, electrically and controls. Knowledge of the protection and operation principles for synchronous and asynchronous machines connected to power grids

  • Specific knowledge in installation engineering design, installation supervision, project control and execution, vibration and alignment skills and troubleshooting is a plus

  • Understanding of and ability to implement electrical, connection drawings, interconnection drawings, and schematics.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated skills in using computers and relevant software packages such as Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, ability to qualify for and hold various industry certifications related to Safety (i.e. MSHA, OSHA, THUET, TBOSIET), and ability pass background screenings (i.e. TWIC, ISNetworld)
