Field Service Technician
Location: Aiken, SC

Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing customer service and technical support to customers at their sites. This position supports customers across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. The Field Service Technician operates as part of a team-oriented field service group, delivering technical expertise related to equipment, processes, and customer applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.

Operational and Administrative Responsibilities 

  • Operate within a team-oriented field service group to provide customer service and technical expertise related to equipment and processes
  • Maintain a region of assigned accounts and periodically assist in the trial and setup process for potential new customers
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve dilution equipment and the application process for anti-tact products
  • Perform preventative maintenance on level control systems, PLCs, pneumatic pumps, motors, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical and pneumatic circuits
  • Maintain inventory of parts on the service vehicle and in customer job boxes
  • Respond to customer issues by phone or through service trips, as required
  • Assist with budget management for assigned accounts
  • Recognize opportunities for growth within existing customer accounts
  • Effectively communicate issues, recommendations, and solutions to customers
  • Maintain product inventory at customer sites

Qualifications 

To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility in a satisfactory manner, either through individual effort or within a team setting. The individual must have the ability to effectively present information to management, customers, and other employees. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and/or Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet all job-specific education requirements as deemed necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training considered a plus
  • Minimum of five years of experience in technical service required

Skills and Requirements 

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance of industrial equipment, including PLCs, pumps, motors, and control systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field service environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia
  • Valid driver’s license required with good driving record as company truck will be provided.

Physical Demands 

  • Frequently stands, bends, stoops, squats, reaches, twists, and otherwise moves continuously during the workday
  • Frequently walks throughout the workday
  • Frequently reaches above shoulder level and lifts or moves objects weighing 30 to 50 pounds
  • Frequently pushes and pulls materials and equipment
  • Ability to function in a very active, fast-paced environment
  • May be exposed to varying conditions, including extreme heat and cold, wet environments, loud noise, and distractions

Work Environment 

Job duties are performed in both a temperature-controlled indoor environment and on the plant floor. The role may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and production-related activities.
