Job Description:

The Opportunity

As a High Voltage Field Service Engineer, you will support the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage equipment up to 800kV. Working alongside experienced service professionals, you will perform field assignments at customer sites, assist with identifying and resolving equipment issues, and support commissioning and maintenance activities. This role provides exposure to high voltage power equipment, field testing practices, and customer-facing service work. You will contribute to maintaining reliable power system infrastructure while building technical skills through hands-on experience in a dynamic field environment.


How You'll Make an Impact
  • Perform field service activities involving installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of high voltage equipment
  • Support commissioning, maintenance, overhaul, upgrade, and retrofit projects at customer sites
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment issues and assist with corrective actions
  • Conduct testing activities and document results using established procedures
  • Compile and review equipment and test data to support issue resolution
  • Coordinate work activities with internal teams and customer representatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations and customer service
  • Support field service projects and the operation of field test equipment
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Trade education in Industrial Mechanic, Electrical trades, or a college or university degree in a technical field such as electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred; equivalent technical training and experience will also be considered
  • 1 to 3 years of experience preferred in technical field service, construction, power equipment, or related technical environments
  • Experience supporting installation, maintenance, testing, or repair of electrical or mechanical equipment
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude with knowledge of substation equipment, high voltage equipment, or electrical testing practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel extensively, up to 80%

Pay Transparency Statement

The expected salary range for this position is $66,000 - $82,000 annually, based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and work location. This position is also eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. In addition to base compensation, Hitachi Energy offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other benefits available to eligible employees.
