Position Overview:
The Customer Service Engineer will play a critical role in supporting our customers through field service, onsite technical training, and preventive maintenance. This position requires regular travel within a designated territory and throughout other parts of the United States. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can work independently and collaboratively while providing expert technical support to both customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Field Service & Travel: Travel regularly to customer and vendor locations within the designated territory and across other parts of the United States to provide technical service and support.
- Technical Training: Provide onsite training to customers on the operation, repair, and maintenance of Voltguard Utilities products, ensuring they are confident in using and maintaining the equipment.
- Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering teams, technicians, and stakeholders at customer or vendor sites to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance services at customer sites to maximize equipment uptime, aligning maintenance schedules with customer production needs and equipment specifications.
- Customer Support: Provide timely, effective responses to internal and external customer inquiries, including troubleshooting, maintenance advice, and technical assistance.
- Sales Support: Collaborate effectively with sales teams and internal departments to understand customer needs, enhance service delivery, and identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Issue Resolution: Address technical problems efficiently, providing rapid solutions and escalating complex issues to specialized teams when necessary.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed service records, generate service reports, and communicate insights or recurring issues to relevant departments for continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a field service engineering role, ideally in the utilities, energy, or industrial equipment sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, renewable energy products, and related equipment.
- Ability to conduct technical training and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical personnel.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in remote or high-pressure environments.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight trips and occasional extended stays.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and CRM systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to meet travel requirements.
