Job description

Amada America has an immediate opening for a Field Service Technician. This person will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance to assist customers with their Amada press and feedline equipment. While installing new Amada equipment in customer plants you may supervising/instructing personnel in setting up equipment, as well as training customer's personnel on proper maintenance and operation of Amada equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, maintenance installation & commissioning of Amada stamping presses and feed line systems.
  • Meeting with the customer to determine the nature of the service or repair.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to perform complex repairs.
  • Providing technical training on new equipment installations to the client employees
  • Audit customer's Amada equipment and report all repair requirements found
  • Provide written and oral reports in English in an accurate and professional manner
  • Promote service parts and preventative maintenance contracts
  • Work flexible hours to support customer service needs including travel to and from customer’s plants

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

  • Reports to Service Manager

KNOWLEDGE:

  • 5+ years of field service experience in the Metal Stamping / Forming industry

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting and installation techniques and the ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot PLCs (Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley), motors, and drives
  • Capable of performing mechanical press repair or mechanical knowledge of machinery found in a manufacturing environment with Hands-on experience with Coil Feeding Systems (Feeders) is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Represent, Amada America effectively in business and social situations as may be required
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive domestic and international travel is required - 75%
  • Located or willing to relocate to the Midwest states
  • High School degree or a technical diploma in a relevant field (Engineering / Electronics preferred).
  • 5+ years of field service experience in the Metal Stamping / Forming industry
  • Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.

TRAVEL:

  • Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional over night stays.
  • Territory - Erlanger, KY and surrounding cities. 

PAY RATE: $30.00-$35.00/HR
