Reports To: Sr. Sup of Site Setup & Prep, US
Summary - The Field Service Engineer (FSE) Intern supports planning and execution activities for hydroelectric projects within VHNA C&C (Construction and Commissioning). This role provides exposure to outage planning, work package development, and commissioning support under the guidance of experienced field engineers.
The intern will assist with coordination and technical support activities, including reviewing work packages, tracking project progress, and maintaining accurate documentation. Responsibilities include supporting daily team coordination, preparing reports and check sheets, and ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
This position is primarily office-based and requires collaboration with internal teams, field personnel, contractors, and customers to support safe, efficient, and first-time-right project execution. The intern will gain practical experience in hydroelectric systems, field service processes, and project coordination.
Responsibilities -
  • Support planning and coordination of installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities
  • Assist with development and review of work packages, procedures, and documentation
  • Track progress against schedules and help identify potential risks or constraints
  • Support preparation of reports, check sheets, and turnover documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications -
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
  • Strong interest in project planning and engineering coordination
  • Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks
