As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity, and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help with solving customer problems and a commitment to deliver the highest levels of customer service are how you will build customer success.
Your Role:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance, and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions. Our varied product lines include hardware, software, and networking products as well as operating systems.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.

  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.

  • Performs maintenance and repairs.

  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.

  • Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.

  • Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems, and application software.

  • Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions.

Territory Coverage:

  • This is a multistate territory with primary coverage in MD, DC, and VA.

  • The ideal candidate must reside within the territory.

  • Candidates who reside close to the Metro DC area OR the Northern VA area are highly preferred.

  • Travel will include daily, overnight, and weekend travel, as needed.

  • The ability to travel up to 25%.

  • Must have own means of transportation unless a company vehicle is provided.

Job Requirement:

Must consent to participate and meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites. Requirements may include, but are not limited to, proof of identification, proof of certification to perform the work required, customer health and safety requirements, etc.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree within the science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology) or equivalent experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position or experience as an end user.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving Agilent Atomic Spectroscopy and Molecular Spectroscopy products preferred, but not required.

  • Experience with the Agilent solutions is desired but not essential.

  • Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful, and timely.

  • The position requires an active, valid driver's license.

  • You enjoy traveling and visiting customers.

  • Travel (25%) within the territory.

Additional Details

In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $34.00 - $53.13/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
