Job Title: Agriculture Science Dual Credit Teacher (High School / Adjunct Faculty)
Ingram Tom Moore High School is seeking a dynamic Agriculture Science / Dual Credit Instructor to deliver rigorous, industry-aligned instruction in agricultural science while serving as an adjunct instructor with Palo Alto College. Our award-winning program offers students diverse opportunities in livestock, agricultural mechanics, leadership development, and career readiness. The program is supported by strong facilities, including a new ag truck, a functional barn and greenhouse, and a new livestock trailer, providing students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences both in and outside the classroom.
This position integrates high school and college-level expectations through classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and extensive student leadership development. It is a highly involved, year-round role that includes FFA advising, supervision of agricultural projects, and travel for competitions and events.
Instruction and Curriculum Development
  • Teach multiple agriculture science courses, including dual credit classes.
  • Develop and maintain syllabi, scope and sequence, and year-at-a-glance plans for all courses.
  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons incorporating current agricultural technologies and practices.
  • Create and implement assessments, including tests, quizzes, labs, and hands-on projects.
  • Differentiate instruction and modify coursework to meet diverse student needs, including IEP and 504 accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration.

Dual Credit/Adjunct Faculty Responsibilities
  • Deliver college-level instruction aligned with Palo Alto College expectations.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and reporting through college systems.
  • Participate in required adjunct faculty training, meetings, and professional development.
  • Ensure curriculum rigor, alignment, and measurable student outcomes.

FFA Advising and Student Leadership Development
  • Serve as advisor for the local FFA chapter, overseeing chapter activities, meetings, and officer teams.
  • Train and coach multiple Career Development Event (CDE) and Leadership Development Event (LDE) teams.
  • Assist students with degree applications, scholarships, record books, and award submissions.
  • Plan and coordinate chapter events, community service projects, banquets, and fundraisers.

Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Oversight
  • Supervise student agricultural projects, including livestock.
  • Oversee school facilities, labs, barn & greenhouse.
  • Assist students with project management, record keeping, and skill development.
  • Support students during livestock shows.

Program Management and Operations
  • Coordinate contest entries, travel arrangements, and required documentation (transportation, lodging, eligibility).
  • Manage program budgets, purchase requests, and fundraising efforts.
  • Maintain safe, organized, and effective learning environments in classrooms.
  • Collaborate with administration, college & career advisor, counselors, and community stakeholders to support program growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education, Agricultural Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred for dual credit eligibility).
  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources.
  • Credentials required to serve as an adjunct faculty member with Palo Alto College.
  • Experience in agricultural education or a related industry.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to building a comprehensive agricultural education program.
