Responsibilities of a Fertilizer Technician
- Apply fertilizers and related products to residential and commercial properties using riding and walk-behind spreaders.
- Mix chemicals safely and accurately according to established procedures.
- Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain an efficient work pace to stay on schedule and meet daily targets.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to company standards during all applications.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of applications and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Be available to work daytime hours, with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Qualifications of a Fertilizer Technician
- Experience in fertilizer application or a related field preferred.
- Certifications in 3A, 3B, 6, 7A, and 7F are preferred; willingness to obtain certifications with company support is accepted.
- Knowledge of safe chemical mixing and handling procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with riding and walk-behind spreaders preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, individually, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn company systems.
- Valid Chauffeur’s Driver’s License and medical card preferred. Valid drivers license required.
Compensation of a Fertilizer Technician
Pay: $18 to $27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
