To thrive as a Fertility RN, you need a solid background in nursing, knowledge of reproductive endocrinology, and an active RN license, often supported by experience in women's health or fertility clinics. Familiarity with fertility-specific electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ultrasound equipment, and medication protocols is important for daily responsibilities. A Fertility RN plays a central role in supporting patients through each stage of an IVF cycle. Responsibilities include patient education about medications and procedures, coordinating laboratory and ultrasound appointments, administering or instructing on injectable medications, and providing emotional support throughout the process. Fertility RNs also work closely with physicians, embryologists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless communication and individualized care for each patient.
