Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Survey in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide courteous customer service to passengers and staff. You will communicate observations, respond to situations with professionalism, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and other members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at ferry transportation locations.
  • Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols of ferry terminals, boarding areas, access points, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, observe passenger and vehicle activity, and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, or maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with supervisors and emergency responders as needed.
  • Prepare accurate reports, maintain required logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and authorized site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
