Job description

Looking to hire a full-time groundskeeper to maintain cleanliness and functionality of our apartment communities in Clarksville, Jeffersonville, and New Albany, Indiana. The largest, River Chase Apartments, has over 450 apartments on a 40-acre campus.

Duties
  • Consistently maintain a neat and clean appearance of the property by picking up trash on grounds daily and ensuring common areas around entrances, leasing office/pool area/laundry room, curbs, sidewalks, and streets are always clean.
  • Pulling weeds, planting flowers, trimming shrubs, etc. as required during season.
  • Assisting in trashing out vacant apartments and doing demolition work as required.
  • Ensuring dumpster areas, trash receptacles are emptied and clean.
  • Walking the property several times a day and picking up new debris, including pet waste. Ensure pet stations are stocked at all times.
  • Completing maintenance and repair tasks around the property including lighting, gutters/downspouts, hallways, some drywall, fencing, etc.
  • Spreading ice melt/salt, distributing notices, and other duties occasionally as required.
  • Managing ponds/pits in times of heavy rains or other acts of nature.

  • Must be able to work outdoors and on feet 8 hours a day.
  • Must have prior landscape experience of larger grounds or commercial property.
  • Must be motivated, hardworking, and dedicated to ensuring property always looks top notch.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently off task lists with limited management supervision.
  • Background check and drug screen required.
  • Candidate must have own vehicle, active driver's license, and insurance.
