Plumbing Service Area Manager
Bayonet Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, a division of IES, is seeking a successful and driven professional to join our team as a Plumbing Service Area Manager. The Area Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the service area to ensure Bayonet goals and objectives are achieved while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, and increase retention levels for Plumbing Service Technicians.
  • Manage five or more technicians, ensuring their efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Review technician performance and daily service calls for accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Guide and mentor service technicians while elevating their level of customer service.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving a variety of residential plumbing issues.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and service-related concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in managing inventory to ensure ready availability of parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Uphold and enforce all company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment that supports teamwork and accountability.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support business operations and team success.

Specific Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Plumbing Service Manager or in a similar leadership role for two years or more.
  • Thorough plumbing service experience and technical knowledge.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and operational oversight.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of plumbing industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Work performed in office and residential customer environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and plumbing/construction-related hazards.
  • Requires operation of company vehicles and equipment, travel within the assigned service area, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
