Job description

Job Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the facility, ensuring a safe and organized work environment. This role includes general cleaning duties, waste disposal, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Remove trash and recyclable materials, ensuring proper disposal in compliance with company and state environmental regulations.
  • Clean and maintain floors using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting facility issues.
  • Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify management when reordering is necessary.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Support emergency clean-up activities in case of spills or other incidents.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain overall plant cleanliness.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Prior janitorial or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and handling of industrial cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching, and prolonged standing.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety regulations (OSHA/Cal-OSHA).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
