Job description

Federal Financial Reporting Manager (10+ Years of Experience)

We are looking for an experienced Federal Financial Reporting Manager to join our team, providing expert Federal Financial Management support to a prestigious Federal agency client. This dynamic role is perfect for an individual who excels in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across various accounting disciplines. As Manager, you will lead a team of financial reporting professionals, oversee the quality and timely delivery of project work, and manage multiple workstreams to achieve outstanding results for our clients.
What will you do in this role:
  • Manage complex, large-scale financial reporting projects with tight deadlines
  • Lead and oversee a team of approximately 5 accounting professionals, providing coaching, quality review, and performance guidance
  • Research, examine, make recommendations, and draft technical papers, policies, and financial guidance for federal entities
  • Optimize the planning, organization, and performance of engagements
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed within cost and schedule, and that reports are generated and submitted on time
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Perform quality reviews of team submissions
  • Define measurable outcomes that advance client financial management performance metrics, internal controls, and direction
  • Provide insightful responses to government requests promptly to ensure delivery of the highest quality products
  • Engage in open and regular exchanges of information between engagement team members and the government to ensure work activities are effective across teams and government

Your qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
  • Active CPA or CGFM required
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Federal financial management, accounting, reporting, internal controls, financial systems, and program operations
  • Experience managing a team of approximately 5 members
  • Knowledge of Federal financial management requirements, including OMB Circulars A-123 and A-136, FASAB/SFFAS, Treasury Financial Manual, Prompt Payment Act, and Travel regulations
  • Proven project management, scheduling, and communication skills
  • Proficient in English: must be able to read, write, and understand English
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to pass a basic government suitability check (US Citizenship required)

Salary Range: $125Kโ€“$150K
Final compensation will be determined based on a range of factors, including relevant experience, education, work location, security clearance level, certifications, and other factors permitted by applicable law. Salary ranges listed reflect the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
