Job description

Human Resources Assistant

The Fralin Biomedical Research Institute is seeking an HR Assistant to provide administrative support to FBRI and HS&T. This position assists with personnel records, leave administration, wage payroll, HR correspondence, and the processing of HR documentation while maintaining employee records in accordance with university policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative experience, experience handling confidential information, and excellent organizational skills. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to customer service, collaboration, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position supports a variety of HR functions, including maintaining employee directories, monthly leave records, assisting the Senior HR Manager with new hire documentation, processing wage time entry, communicating deadlines to ensure compliance, and performing other related duties as assigned. The HR Assistant also supports onboarding and offboarding activities, daily HR operations, and compliance with university and departmental processes. This position offers opportunities for professional growth and expanded responsibilities over time. As experience is gained, the HR Assistant may assist with program coordination, process improvement initiatives, and additional HR projects in collaboration with the Senior HR Manager.

• Associate or bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • One year of experience supporting human resources functions. • Experience with payroll, human resources, and/or employee onboarding • Experience using systems such as HRIS, applicant tracking systems, Banner, PageUp, or similar platforms.
