Floor Care Specialist — Full-time, non-exempt (GSA Contracted – Janitorial)
Pay: $17.73 – $20.00 / hr

Job summary

Perform specialized cleaning and maintenance of floor surfaces (VCT, vinyl, marble, tile, concrete, carpet) to federal contract and ARS quality-assurance standards. Operate powered floor-care equipment and follow all safety and infection-control procedures.

Key responsibilities (brief)

  • Strip, wax, seal, buff, and maintain hard floors; carpet extraction as needed.

  • Safely operate/maintain auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, extractor,s and vacuums.

  • Apply finishes/sealants per product SDS and specifications.

  • Inspect floors for wear/damage and report hazards.

  • Maintain equipment, tools, and chemical storage; follow PPE and safety rules.

  • Assist in training janitorial staff and perform routine custodial tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; able to work early morning or evening shifts.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and demonstrate attention to detail.
