We're looking for a Discipline Lead - Process Engineering who brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities
What You'll Do
As the Discipline Lead - Process Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and reliable facility designs. In this role, you will:
Technical Leadership
  • Lead the engineering of engineering projects across all phases - Feasibility, Conceptual Design, DBM's, FEED, and Detailed Engineering.
  • Develop and validate process models for simulations.
  • Oversee and stamp major process engineering deliverables including Heat & Material Balances, PFD's, P&ID's, Shutdown Keys, Control Narratives, and Engineering reports.
  • Review existing facilities performance, identify bottlenecks, and develop optimization and debottlenecking plants.
  • Contribute to internal process engineering standards, best practices, and project execution methodologies.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage process engineering deliverable schedules, budgets.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior engineers, along with global workshare engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with PMPE, multidiscipline engineering teams, vendors, and clients to solve complex technical challenges.

Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Lead P&ID and Process Hazard Assessments (PHA) reviews to ensure safe, operable, and regulatory-compliant designs.
  • Ensure engineering outputs meet API, ASME, ISO, and other regulatory standards.

Project Execution
  • Support commissioning, start-up, and operational optimization activities.

Technical Excellence
  • Ensuring U.S. regulatory compliance, including relevant state and federal process safety, mechanical integrity, and environmental requirements.
  • Deliver technical expertise in a variety of process systems, which may include:
    • Natural gas processing (sweet and sour gas)
    • Oil processing, including heavy oil, stabilization, and treating operations
    • Power Generation
    • Brownfield MOC's
    • Refinery process systems

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
About You
You are an experienced engineer who thrives in a technical leadership role that enjoys working on multidisciplinary projects. You bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or Colorado, or willingness to achieve P.E. license in other states as required (supported by Equinox).
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in process engineering within oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical facilities. Experience working for an EPCM is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in process engineering, with a strong focus on Aspen HYSYS; experience with ProMax, UniSim, VGMSim, or similar simulation tools is an asset
  • A proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex, high-value projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable U.S. industry codes and standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and commercial awareness, enabling strong client and internal stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fastโ€‘paced EPC/EPCM environment, managing multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Willingness to travel as required (expected to be less than 20% of the time).
