How much do fea analyst jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 26, 2026, the average yearly pay for fea analyst in the United States is $73,261.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $52,500.00 and $87,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an FEA Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as an FEA Analyst, you need a solid understanding of engineering principles, finite element analysis techniques, and typically a degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering. Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN, as well as familiarity with CAD tools, is essential and sometimes complemented by relevant certifications. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help in interpreting results and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. These capabilities ensure accurate simulations, reliable structural assessments, and effective integration of analysis results into the design and development process.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

Senior engineering roles in fields such as petroleum, aerospace, or software engineering can reach or exceed $500,000 annually, especially with bonuses, stock options, or in high-demand industries. These positions typically require advanced skills, extensive experience, and often involve leadership or specialized technical expertise.

What are FEA Analysts?

FEA Analysts are professionals who use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to simulate and analyze the behavior of structures, components, or systems under various physical conditions. They help engineers predict how products will react to real-world forces, such as heat, vibration, and stress, before they are built. FEA Analysts interpret the simulation results, identify potential design flaws, and suggest improvements to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. Their work is essential in industries like automotive, aerospace, civil engineering, and manufacturing.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A Fea Analyst typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized training or experience, as this role usually requires a degree or relevant certifications. High-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree often include roles like sales managers, real estate brokers, or skilled trades such as commercial pilots or certain tech sales positions, which rely on skills, experience, and performance. These roles may involve commission, bonuses, or performance-based pay to reach such income levels.

What is the difference between Fea Analyst vs Structural Engineer?

AspectFea AnalystStructural Engineer
Required CredentialsBachelor's in Engineering, certifications like FE or PE often preferredBachelor's or Master's in Civil or Structural Engineering, PE license often required
Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based, using simulation softwareOffice and fieldwork, overseeing construction and design
Industry UsageCommon in aerospace, automotive, civil engineering for analysisPrimarily in construction, infrastructure, and building design

Fea Analysts focus on finite element analysis to evaluate structural performance using specialized software, while Structural Engineers design and oversee the construction of structures. Both roles require engineering credentials, but their daily tasks and industry applications differ.

What jobs will be left by 2030?

Fea Analysts, who evaluate finite element analysis models, are expected to remain in demand due to the ongoing need for engineering simulations in industries like aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. However, automation and advanced software tools may reduce some routine tasks, emphasizing the importance of skills in data analysis, software proficiency, and continuous learning to stay relevant.

What are some common challenges faced by FEA Analysts when working on complex engineering projects?

FEA Analysts often encounter challenges such as accurately modeling complex geometries, selecting appropriate boundary conditions, and ensuring mesh quality to achieve reliable simulation results. Additionally, balancing project deadlines with the need for thorough validation and verification of results can be demanding. Collaboration with design engineers and project managers is essential to clarify requirements and address any discrepancies between simulation results and real-world testing.

What is the role of a FEA analyst?

A Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analyst uses computer simulations to assess the structural integrity and performance of products or components under various conditions. They typically work with specialized software like ANSYS or Abaqus and interpret results to guide design improvements, ensuring safety and compliance. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of engineering principles are essential for this role.
