JOB SUMMARY: The Fresh Stop Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the daily operations and management of the store. Fresh Stop Assistant Store Managers lead by example by providing fast, friendly service to all Fresh Stop customers. They also lead by example by performing all assigned operational duties necessary to keep the Fresh Stop store clean and well merchandised and by following all company policies and procedures to ensure proper and efficient operation of the store. They assume store responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:


  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale by supervising employees and ensuring that Company policies and procedures are being followed and maintained.
  • Handle customer relations in an efficient and courteous manner to provide for maximum customer satisfaction in a friendly environment.
  • Adhere to and support the Store Manager in enforcing the Fresh Stop Sales Associate Job Description. Lead by example and be able to perform all duties and responsibilities expected of a Fresh Stop Sales Associate.
  • Assist in the general training, supervision, and scheduling of all team members as requested by the Store Manager or Territory Manager.
  • Collaborate with Store Manager on setting and achieving store performance goals and projects.
  • Ensure accurate daily accounting of all financial activities and completion of records using company back office system.
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures and support the Store Manager to ensure execution by all team members within the store. This includes but is not limited to store controls such as cash handling and loss prevention.
  • Support the Store Manager to ensure all checklist tasks are completed timely.
  • Assist in ordering and merchandising of all authorized merchandise by complying with inventory guidelines. Direct and control proper merchandising and follow-through on all sales promotions.
  • Ensure that all food and food preparation maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Control inventory shrink within all corporate guidelines. Pursue inventory shortages or overages to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Be observant and support the Store Manager to maintain optimum safety and security within the store.
  • Communicate efficiently and professionally with Store Manager and co-workers. Keep Store Manager informed of any maintenance problems and/or any situations that are out of the ordinary.
  • Maintain a neat personal appearance in accordance with Company Uniform and Dress Code Policy.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Required to work scheduled hours. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to read, review, and interpret financial statements and other reports and documents to affect change. Demonstrated skills in leadership and customer service. Demonstrated ability to develop and promote team members. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to exercise sound judgment and work with minimum supervision.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Effectively present information to customers, associate & management. Ability to read, analyze & interpret financial reports & legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from associates, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to speak, read & write in the English language.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGULATIONS: Valid in-state Driver’s License with required auto insurance, acceptable motor vehicle report, and achieve and maintain the ServSafe Certification.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance on a ladder and/or stool, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
