Job description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative support to physicians while delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced medical office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Accurately document patient encounters, physician notes, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures using a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.
  • Perform clinical procedures including EKGs, injections, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and medication administration as directed by the physician.
  • Assist with electronic prescription processing and medication refills in accordance with physician orders and clinic protocols.
  • Prepare examination rooms, maintain clinical supplies, and ensure equipment is clean and operational.
  • Complete medical records, referrals, prior authorizations, and other clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current Medical Assistant certification through CCBMA, AMT, or AAMA required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EKGs, vital signs, injections, and phlebotomy required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR); eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
