Join Our Team
Hamlin County Farmers Cooperative is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to help lead our convenience store team.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll work alongside employees each day while helping manage store operations, inventory, cash controls, and customer service. Every day is different, and we're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and leads by example.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Order merchandise, beverages, tobacco products, and other store inventory.
  • Prepare and transport bank deposits and complete other business-related errands as needed.
  • Receive deliveries, stock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain product displays.
  • Perform daily cash handling, deposits, till reconciliation, and lottery reconciliation.
  • Help maintain inventory accuracy and minimize product loss.
  • Train, coach, and support store employees.
  • Assist with scheduling and provide shift coverage when needed.
  • Fill in during employee absences, which may occasionally include evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming store.
  • Ensure company policies, food safety standards, and safety procedures are followed.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:
  • Has previous retail, convenience store, food service, or customer service experience.
  • Has leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Is dependable and accountable.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and maintains an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is comfortable handling cash and basic computer systems.
  • Has strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Can lift up to 40 pounds and remain on their feet for extended periods.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. While the primary schedule will generally be daytime hours, flexibility is required to help cover staffing shortages, vacations, and occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.
