Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and results-driven Part-Time Insurance Telemarketer to support our agency's growth by making outbound calls to prospective and existing customers.
The primary focus of this position is to generate interest, identify insurance needs, gather accurate prospect information, and schedule qualified appointments or warm transfers for licensed team members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is comfortable speaking with people, enjoys working toward measurable goals, and can maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume calling environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Make outbound calls to prospective customers using agency-provided leads and call lists.
  • Contact existing customers when assigned for account reviews, cross-sell opportunities, and follow-up campaigns.
  • Introduce the agency and identify potential needs for auto, home, renters, life, and other insurance products.
  • Schedule qualified appointments for licensed insurance team members.
  • Complete warm transfers to licensed team members when appropriate.
  • Ask effective qualifying questions and accurately document customer/prospect information.
  • Follow agency-approved scripts and talking points while maintaining a natural, professional conversation.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, contacts, outcomes, follow-ups, and appointments.
  • Follow up with prospects who have previously expressed interest.
  • Meet established daily and weekly activity and appointment goals.
  • Participate in coaching, training, call reviews, and team meetings as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and prospect information.
  • Follow all agency procedures and applicable insurance solicitation and telemarketing requirements.
Performance Expectations:
Success in this position will be measured primarily through consistent activity and quality lead generation.
  • Consistent outbound calling during scheduled work hours.
  • Meeting established daily contact and conversation goals.
  • Generating a targeted number of qualified appointments each week.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of call activity.
  • Demonstrating consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Following approved scripts, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Showing improvement based on coaching and call feedback.
  • Maintaining a professional and positive attitude when handling objections or rejection.
  • Specific performance goals may be adjusted based on lead source, campaign type, hours worked, and agency needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal communication and telephone skills.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls.
  • Professional, friendly, and confident phone presence.
  • Ability to engage prospects and ask appropriate qualifying questions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work toward daily and weekly goals.
  • Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to follow scripts and processes while sounding conversational.
  • Coachable and receptive to feedback.
Preferred:
  • Previous telemarketing, call center, appointment-setting, customer service, or sales experience.
  • Previous insurance or financial-services experience.
  • Experience using a CRM or lead-management system.
An insurance license is not required for a position limited to permitted telemarketing, lead-generation, and appointment-setting activities. The employee must remain within the activities permitted for an unlicensed team member and refer questions involving insurance advice, coverage recommendations, quoting, binding, or other licensed activities to an appropriately licensed team member.
Part-Time: 15–25 hours per week
Compensation
: Hourly pay of $12 per hour, with potential performance-based incentives where permitted and applicable.
