GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Provide support to the Store Manager to ensure effective execution of systematic inventory process, quality assurance processes and standards, and inventory management processes and standards; execution of merchandising plans, including merchandise sets, displays, and rotation; provide support to management team to maintain overall store operations and superior customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Greet all customers as they enter the store and thank them as they are leaving
โ€ข Demonstrate friendliness and cheerfulness to customers and co-workers
โ€ข Merchandising of the department to company standards
โ€ข Ensure every item has a SKU and is priced
โ€ข Set ad merchandise in accordance with promotional guidelines
โ€ข Ensure price changes are completed as directed by BPM
โ€ข Execute merchandising plans as directed by BPM or store leadership
โ€ข Receive shipments as needed in the department
โ€ข Stock freight and ensure adequate amounts of merchandise available
โ€ข Assist cashiers and perform cashiering functions as needed
โ€ข Ensure a clean and safe working and shopping environment throughout the department
โ€ข Communicate with location management and department personnel daily
โ€ข Ensure that signing, displays, and safety concerns are addressed and corrected
โ€ข Conduct regular cycle counts of merchandise in accordance with cycle count schedules in the department
โ€ข Negative on hands completed daily
โ€ข Plant dumps completed weekly
โ€ข Help inventory counting at other departments or locations as needed
โ€ข Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
โ€ข Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervising manager
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
โ€ข Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
โ€ข Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
โ€ข Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
โ€ข Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
โ€ข Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
